Name: webrec.cab Publisher: Unknown Publisher OK button There is no option to override it. I know the ActiveX is o.k. So can I install it somehow? I don't want to lower my overall security level settings if poss, just allow this to install. I turned off the ActiveX blocking, turned security down all the way, added as a safe site, and only 1 out of 6 machines accepted the change permanently. Any other way to install webrec.cab?? RE: Windows blocking ActiveX installation 2011/11/17 20:02:47 0 how do I download the file webrec.cab, need to view my cameras via internet and I' receiving msg block unknowing publisher.
I have an older MACE DVR56-MR Security camera system that MACE no longer supports. I recently replaced my 9-year-old HP PC (XP) with a new HP Slimline running Windows 8 64-bit. I now cannot access my security cams on the new machine. Specifically I cannot install (even manually with regsvr32) the webrec.ocx ActiveX control. It (Regsvr32) says it is incompatible with 64-bit systems when I run it.
I have tried setting force compatibility mode for my camera system URL, just for kicks, but that made no difference. I get the MACE webserver header and footer that the built-in webserver on the MACE recorder sends out, but no Visual or Control window, just a very small box icon in the upper left corner of the IE page.
MACE cannot help and I am having a very hard time finding a source for webrec.ocx (or webrec.cab) to install. The DVR56-MR system uses MPG4 VBR encoding for its video streaming and files. I don't really want to try to set up a virtual machine on windows 8 (if even possible).
Can anyone help me: El clon download episodes to computer.
Find a 64-bit webrec.ocx?
Address whether I can try something different (like using regedit to try to force the registry to use the one I have - doubtful, but I am desperate)?
Provide me with a security systems company contact (other than MACE - I already got a decline from them) who might help?
Have any other hints to try?
Is it possible to run a 32-bit version of IE10 (IE12) under a 64-bit Windows 8 - that might help?
